Biography

Biography

Mikhail Solovyov's paintings are a striking example of the immortality of the classical painting tradition.

As an artist, he is drawn to historical, religious, and mythological subjects, through whose imagery he projects a contemporary understanding of the world.

The artist believes that the aesthetics of the past, as well as the moral content inherent in the works of the old masters, inherent in these genres, remain relevant today.

From his canvases, beautiful maidens and colossal men gaze upon the viewer, moving beyond time and space.

These are echoes, echoes, and contemporary visions of the images and aspirations of such geniuses as Rembrandt, Géricault, Delacroix, Ingres, Bouguereau, and, of course, Francisco Goya, whose work becomes a certain ideological pattern for Mikhail. He first closely perceives the distinctive aesthetics of the beautiful and terrible through Los Caprichos (1799) by the Spanish genius.

In his work, he strives to convey social, ethical, and political themes in the imagery of the classical academic school, which seems lost and forgotten, but only at first glance.
