About this work

A triptych of three separate panels on exposed wooden supports, each centered on a single nude figure shown collapsed, curled, or hanging against a bare or whitened ground. Torn and stained canvas, visible wood grain, and scrawled illegible text surround the figures, while thick vertical bands and dripping streaks of red cut across each composition like wounds.

The handling combines academically rendered flesh tones for the figures with rough, expressive fields of white, black, and blood-red pigment applied with palette knife and drips. The contrast between careful figure painting and raw, gestural surrounding marks creates a raw, distressed mood across all three panels.
