About this work

A large, shaggy animal head in charcoal grey and black dominates the center, its muzzle and ear rendered in loose curved strokes. Around it, arched teal-green mounds suggest crouching creatures, while yellow underpainting and scattered crimson drips spread across the cardboard surface, with blue scribbled lines threading through the upper corners.

Thick tempera is dragged, dripped and spattered rather than blended, leaving a raw, unfinished texture over exposed cardboard tone. The clash of acid yellow, teal and blood-red against black creates a jarring, feverish energy, giving the animal presence a raw, unsettled intensity.
