About this work
Several wild-haired, monstrous figures with wind-blown hair and bared torsos raise their arms and gesture wildly in a swirling, indistinct space; one face is marked with a smear of red ink. At the right, a solitary nude man turns away from the group, bent forward with his head lowered into his hand, as if recoiling from the tumult around him.
Dense networks of etched line and soft plate tone create a smoky, monochrome atmosphere, broken only by the single spot of red on one figure's face. The loose, scratchy drawing and blurred contours give the print a raw, unsettled energy suited to a scene of mythic pursuit and torment.
