Twilight

A river bends through a hilly valley seen from an elevated vantage point; a steep rust-colored rock outcrop juts in from the right, catching warm evening light while the surrounding hills and far ridge fall into shadow. Deep blue-violet shadow across the hills sets off the glowing orange and rust of the sunlit cliff face, built up with loose, energetic strokes that model its cracked facets.
