Series "Artist and model"

Two nude figures stand pressed together in a tight embrace, arms wrapped around each other's necks and shoulders, heads tilted so their faces nearly touch cheek to cheek; their overlapping torsos merge into a single dark mass while their legs remain planted close together on the bare page.

Rendered only in black ink on white paper, the bodies are built from scribbled cross-hatching and pooled washes that thicken into near-solid shadow at the point of contact, while loose spatter dots scatter to the right; the raw, gestural line and stark monochrome give the embrace an urgent, intense physical charge.
