About this work
Overlapping nude bodies are rendered in rapid, scratchy ink lines, limbs and upturned feet crossing the sheet in a dense, tangled mass. Amid the tangle a large horned head with a wide staring eye and open mouth looms on the right, while smaller profile faces peer in from the edges of the sheet, suggesting the myth of a bull-god carrying off a woman.
The drawing is built from restless cross-hatched pen strokes over a loose wash of blush pink and pale yellow that bleeds through the paper, with pools of black ink at the lower edge. Nothing is fully resolved into solid form; figures dissolve into scribble and shadow. The effect is agitated and unsettled, an energetic, unresolved struggle rather than a calm illustration.
