About this work
Two figures merge into a single tangled silhouette: a bearded, mask-like face nuzzles close against a heavier nude woman who sits with one leg drawn up, gripping a thin stick or cane in her hands. A scribbled mass of loose lines crowns their joined heads, and ink blots spatter the paper near their lower legs.
The drawing is built entirely from restless, angular pen strokes - jagged, thorn-like marks bristle along every contour, giving the intertwined bodies a nervous, agitated energy. Values stay almost purely black and white, with only faint grey blooming at the edges of the ink.
