About this work
Five nude women surge across an empty ground in wild, twisting poses. Two at the outer edges lift bundled shapes above their heads; at center a running woman grips a red-haired head raised by the hair while a companion beside her recoils. Loose red daubs mark the ground like scattered blood, tracing the group's frantic passage.
The scene is etched in scratchy grey cross-hatching over bare paper, with the figures left as open contour lines against a mottled ground. Sparing washes of red ink puncture the monochrome print, heightening the sense of violence and momentum and giving the frenzied procession a raw, urgent charge.
