About this work
A rounded black electric meter with a small dial window is mounted on a mustard-yellow wood panel fixed to a wall of pale green and white striped wallpaper, faint hairline cracks visible above it. Two thick cables, one rust-orange and one olive-green, emerge from its base and loop downward in matching U-shapes before disappearing off the lower edge.
Soft mint, ochre and near-black tones are blended with delicate pastel strokes that give the striped wall a fabric-like softness against the meter's hard geometry. Rendered with the same close, deliberate attention as a portrait, the humble utility fixture takes on a quiet, faintly nostalgic presence.
