About this work
Two rows of trees heavy with snow or frost lean inward from either side, their dark trunks and tangled branches forming a natural tunnel over a snow-covered path. At the center, the path opens onto a softly glowing, pale area suggesting a clearing or distant light.
Warm ochre and taupe patches break through a dominant range of whites and greys, built up with dense, textured impasto that catches light across the surface. The muted, diffused illumination and heavy brushwork produce a still, hushed winter atmosphere.
