About this work
A large stone manor house with a pink tiled roof and several chimneys sits on rising ground, partly screened by dark cypress and other trees. A flowering border of pink and yellow blooms runs along a garden wall in the middle distance, in front of a broad, closely mown lawn that fills the foreground. Low hills fade into haze behind the house.
