About this work
Set against a dark, mottled ground, an olive-green cluster occupies the left half of the canvas, two narrow pale-green shapes rising from it like leaves, horns, or ears. A broad diagonal band of red-orange cuts across the middle distance, while patches of turquoise, white and pink gather in the upper right, and thin red drips run down the right edge.
The surface is built from scraped, scratched and dripped paint rather than smooth modelling: black linear marks scribble over every zone, and colour is layered wet-into-wet so edges blur and bleed. The effect reads closer to an abstract tangle of vegetation or an unnamed creature than a legible scene, leaving the picture's subject deliberately open and slightly unsettling.
