About this work
The composition splits sharply in two: a broad, unbroken plane of saturated red-orange occupies the left half, while the right half assembles smaller fragments — grid lines, faint printed text, silhouettes of cranes or scaffolding, and pale rectangular shapes — against an off-white ground. A narrow strip of ochre and a jagged red bar mark the seam between the two halves.
Paint is applied in flat, matte fields on the left and in thin, scratched, overlapping layers on the right, suggesting weathered posters or industrial signage beneath the surface. The stark contrast between the solid color field and the fragmented grey collage creates a tense, unsettled balance between abstraction and half-legible urban imagery.
