About this work
Fragmented, angular planes in grey, black, and dark red-brown radiate diagonally across a pale cream field, their sharp edges and thin cracking lines suggesting broken glass or overlapping feathers. Denser accumulations of dark shapes gather in the upper right and lower right corners, framing a lighter, more open center.
Applied with a palette knife in thick, textured strokes, the composition contrasts smooth cream passages with rough, scraped dark shards. The interplay of sharp diagonals and warm rust tones against the cool pale ground gives the abstract form a restless, fractured energy.
