About this work
A low stone bridge strung with small flags crosses a broad river, a motorboat passing beneath it and a smaller boat drifting in the foreground water. Behind the bridge, a dense wall of skyscrapers rises into a pale sky along the far bank.
The buildings are rendered in scraped, chalky layers of grey, tan, and pale blue that read as sunlit stone from a distance, while the river is built up in thick teal and green strokes with white highlights marking the boat's wake.
