About this work
A central female figure crowned with white roses and wearing a richly patterned blue-and-gold robe stands with eyes closed, cradling a white dove in her hands. She is flanked by two winged attendants on each side, dressed in jewel-toned floral robes; the two outer figures hold a mandolin and a flute, while lilies and pink and white roses fill the gaps between the figures, with a small parrot perched at upper right.
The palette is intensely saturated—royal blue, gold, coral and turquoise—applied with dense, gilded ornamental patterning across the robes and wings, recalling stained glass or icon painting. The flat, symmetrical composition and glowing color give the scene a festive, reverent radiance.
