About this work
The canvas is filled edge to edge with large, biomorphic puzzle-piece forms - swelling curves and rounded lobes - that lock together across the surface, with no horizon or recognizable object, only shape against shape.
Blocks of saturated acrylic - ultramarine, ochre, scarlet, emerald, and ivory - sit against a rough black ground pitted with small craters and drips, while thin outlines separate the color fields; the flat, jigsaw-like patterning produces an energetic, rhythmic pulse across the whole picture.
