About this work
A grey cat sits in close-up on a snow-covered ridge, its head turned to survey a village below of low houses, bare trees and a broken wooden fence. In the middle distance a footbridge crosses a dark stream, where two small figures walk toward the lit windows of the settlement.
The whole scene is drenched in cold blues and violets, with the cat's fur built up in short, textured strokes that catch a faint warm glow along its edges.
