About this work
A narrow stone staircase climbs uphill through a dense grove, flanked by rough retaining walls built of stacked rock. Slender tree trunks lean in from both sides and arch overhead, forming a natural tunnel that frames the path as it disappears into the shaded distance.
Patches of bright sunlight break through the leaf canopy and scatter across the stone treads in irregular white and gold patches, contrasting with the deep green-brown shadow of the woods.
