About this work
A pale, foggy landscape shows a light-toned path or road curving from the lower left into the distance, flanked by dark, softly blurred hedges or bushes. A low gap between the hedges opens onto a hazy pale horizon, with all detail dissolved into soft, atmospheric shapes.
The palette is reduced almost to monochrome: warm cream and grey-beige tones against near-black silhouettes, with barely any color contrast. Paint is applied in thin, dry, scumbled layers that leave the canvas texture visible, softening every edge. The effect is hushed and hazy, more a study of light and fog than a description of place.
