About this work
Two people sit close together at a small round table cluttered with a glass, cups and a plate of pastries; one wears a teal-green top and is seen mostly from behind, the other, with red-brown hair and a red collar, leans in beside a potted plant. Bold, unmixed patches of teal, orange, red and ochre are laid on with loose, energetic strokes that flatten the figures into blocky shapes.
