About this work
A nude woman sits astride the head and horns of a bull, gripping one horn as the animal turns back toward her. Above them, an enormous bearded face emerges from the sky, a hand beside it grasping a jagged lightning bolt, while a winged figure carries a smaller body through the air past a star and sun-like disc.
Fine, dense linework in black ink builds the muscular bulk of the bull and the soft modeling of the woman's body against a plain paper sky, with heavier hatching massing around the cloud-face and rocky ground. The mix of tiny cosmic symbols, flight, and abduction gives the print a charged, dreamlike drama.
