About this work

Gnarled, wind-bent pine trunks lean and twist together to form a natural canopy over a paved seaside walkway bordered by a low stone wall. A woman in a pink dress and hat stands near the wall on the left, with smaller figures visible farther along the path; beyond the trees a bright turquoise sea and pale sky fill the background.

Cool greens and blues dominate the palette, punctuated by warm ochre patches of sunlit ground and the woman's pink figure. Strong, directional brushstrokes trace the twisting trunks and branches. Brilliant midday light produces sharp, dappled shade across the path, and the tangled trees against the vivid sea create a sun-soaked, energetic coastal mood.
