About this work
A gravel path curves through a park beneath a canopy of trees turned gold, orange, and deep red. At its center, half hidden by branches, stands a round stone fountain basin. Sunlight breaks through the foliage in patches, lighting the path and fountain while the surrounding woods recede into shadow.
Thick, energetic strokes of ochre, vermilion, and olive build the autumn canopy with an almost sculptural density, while light is captured as broken patches of color rather than blended tone. The effect is vivid and immersive, charged with warm seasonal light.
