About this work
A nude figure lies curled on her side, one leg drawn up with toes splayed at the left edge, the other leg bent beneath. The arms cross near the face, hands loosely clasped, while the head tips back into a mass of dark, tangled hair rendered in denser ink.
A single continuous black contour, softened with a pale blue-grey wash, defines the whole figure in one unbroken sweep, while stippled ink marks the hair and shadowed hollows. The calm, looping line and quiet palette give the pose a relaxed, dreamy stillness.
