About this work
A monstrous quadruped creature with ridged, scaly hide, curling horns, and a gaping tooth-filled jaw crouches low across cracked, furrowed earth in the foreground. Its clawed limbs dig into the ground while its head turns to snarl, one horn raised skyward; behind it, on the horizon, cranes and rows of high-rise apartment blocks mark a distant construction site.
Rendered in etching's fine cross-hatched lines, the palette moves from near-black foreground earth to pale grey-blue sky, with the beast's hide picked out in silvery highlights against deep shadow. Dense linework builds volume and menace, and the flat wash of urban silhouette compresses distance into a stage-like backdrop. The effect is bleak and unsettling, apocalyptic dread staged against an ordinary contemporary skyline.
