About this work
Several figures cluster tightly on the left half of the sheet: a full-bodied seated woman beside a child, and behind them another woman and man sitting close, their forms overlapping and merging. A large round shape trails off to the right, tied to the group by a long looping line of dots that spirals across the empty paper.
The drawing is built mostly in graphite underdrawing reinforced with dark stitched ink contours, leaving the sheet largely uncolored. Faint blue pencil marks flicker at the edges, but the overall effect is quiet and unresolved, the figures dissolving into one another and into the surrounding paper, giving the scene a hushed, contemplative stillness.
