About this work
Thick autumn foliage in crimson and burnt orange fills the upper half of the canvas, lit from behind by a low sun that streaks the sky pink, gold and blue; a dark, low structure sits mid-ground, a bird gliding just above its roofline, while pale boulders and grass occupy the foreground with a few tiny indistinct figures at the lower left.
