About this work
A slender white church bell tower, crowned with a gilded onion dome and small cross, is glimpsed through a screen of dark cypress trees and broader green foliage. A paved or sandy path runs along the bottom edge, with the tower positioned slightly left of center against open sky.
Saturated blue sky contrasts with the layered greens of the cypresses and warm gold highlights on the dome, applied in confident, textured strokes with visible canvas weave. Bright, even sunlight and crisp color contrasts give the view a serene, warm summer character.
