Biography
Born in 1964 in Starokonstantinov, Ukraine; painter known for ballet-themed works, based in St. Petersburg since 1998.
Education & Career
- 1975-1980studied at the children's art school in Starokonstantinov, studied with the artist N.I. Panasyuk.
- 1980-1984studied at the Odessa Art School. M.B. Grekov, at the painting department with teachers S.S. Kovalenko, G.N. Pavlyuk, N.I. Golyushev and D.D. Egorova.
- 1986-1988studied in the workshops of K.M. Lomykin, M. God in Odessa, M.A. Ryasnyansky in Nikolaev, T.N. Yablonskaya in Kiev. He worked in the genre of landscape, portrait and historical painting. Participated in exhibitions of Ukrainian artists in Odessa, works were purchased by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
- 1988-1989moved to St. Petersburg, where, as an auditor, he attended classes in the workshop of B.S. Ugarov and V.I. Reikhet at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin.
- 1990entered the Faculty of Painting, IZHSA them. I.E. Repin.
- 1993began classes at the easel painting workshop of the IZHSA them. I.E. Repin under the guidance of academicians Y.M. Neprintsev and O.A. Eremeev, worked on sketches of thematic paintings dedicated to the fate of A.S. Pushkin and folk rituals.
- 1995-1996decided on the preference for the ballet theme. He began systematic work on field sketches at the Academy of Russian Ballet I. Vaganova and ballet theaters of St. Petersburg.
- 1997graduated from I.E. Repin Academy of the Russian Academy of Arts, diploma work - a series of paintings dedicated to ballet ("In the rehearsal room", "Young dancer", "Backstage".)
- 1997becomes a member of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists, participates in exhibition activities. After the exhibition "Orthodox Rus", the idea of a thematic cycle "To the Holy Places", dedicated to the modern Orthodox Church and its traditions, emerged.
- 1998up to now - lives and works in St. Petersburg, exhibitor of domestic and foreign exhibitions, participant in international auctions. Develops the theme of ballet as the main one in his work.
