About this work
A two-story ochre villa with red-shuttered windows and a small bell turret occupies the right side of the composition, its arched doorway reached through an iron gate. Tall palm trees and a large leafy tree frame the building on the left, a terracotta urn standing in the foreground beside a low wall, with a sunlit paved courtyard stretching toward the viewer.
Warm ochre and cream walls stand out against deep green foliage and a pale blue sky, strong Mediterranean sunlight casting sharp, angular shadows across the pavement. Loose, textured pastel strokes and high contrast give the scene a drowsy, sun-baked midday calm.
