About this work
A row of mature, thick-trunked lime trees lines a paved path curving away into the distance, their canopies meeting overhead to form a shaded green tunnel. Grass verges flank the path on both sides, and a second row of trees continues beyond, with open ground visible through gaps in the foliage at the far end.
Deep green shadow dominates the lower trunks while dappled sunlight breaks through the leaves above, scattering warm yellow-green patches across the path and grass. Loose, flickering pastel strokes capture the play of light through foliage, lending the alley a hushed, restful, midday calm.
