About this work
A large orange circle, textured like a glowing sun, sits at the top center of the canvas, ringed by pale blue sky-like fields. Below, curving bands of blue, green and dark violet interlock with sharp-edged orange and yellow shapes, while a solid red block fills the right edge and a strip of green anchors the lower left.
Acrylic is applied in flat, saturated planes punctuated by rough, granular texture within the orange forms, giving them a radiant, sun-baked surface. The high-key blue-and-orange contrast and rounded, flowing shapes create an energetic, warm abstract landscape suggestive of light and heat.
