About this work
The canvas divides into large, irregular geometric fields of flat red, black, cream, orange, teal and green, meeting at angled seams rather than a recognizable scene. Within several darker panels, richly worked textures emerge - a honeycomb-like grid, cratered surfaces, and spatters of blue and red paint - suggesting eroded relief rather than depicted objects. A small round medallion sits isolated in the upper left corner.
Acrylic is built up over a pale ground in contrasting matte and heavily textured passages, so raw color blocks sit beside encrusted, tactile surfaces. There is no illusion of depth; the composition works through color contrast and surface variation alone. The overall effect is bold and physical, with an energetic, almost architectural rhythm across the panel.
