Summer garden

Four weathered marble statues on plinths stand symmetrically around a multi-lobed stone fountain basin, its central jet spraying above a smaller sculptural group in the greenish water. Fallen leaves carpet the ground and the clipped hedges beyond, while tall trees in full autumn color arch overhead, their canopy opening to patches of pale sky above the fountain's spray.

Warm oranges and golds of the foliage set off the cool white stone of the statues and pale green fountain water, the whole scene rendered in loose, dabbed strokes and dappled backlight filtering through the canopy. The effect is soft-focused and quietly dreamy, a hushed garden corner caught in autumn light.
