About this work

A grey skeletal apartment tower under construction rises behind a low red-and-white barrier fence, its floors marked with orange primer and yellow safety tape and a yellow construction crane visible at the right edge. An empty white billboard, a left-turn arrow sign and a mandatory-direction disc stand along the foreground barrier, while the wet ground below mirrors the tower in a streaked, dripping reflection.

Cold greys and blacks dominate, accented by hazard red, orange and safety yellow; ink-like drips run down the lower half of the composition, blurring the reflection into abstraction. Rough, scratchy mark-making over the concrete surfaces conveys unfinished, weathered texture, and the scene reads as a quiet, faintly bleak vision of urban construction.
