About this work
Three tall, gothic-arched structures - a central gabled tower flanked by two smaller domed ones - stand side by side like a monumental gateway, their pointed arches and round windows rendered in near-black tones. At the base, a pale golden cascade pours through a central archway onto the ground below.
The entire background is filled with a single, saturated field of red, against which the dark masses of stone read as flat silhouettes with only faint interior modeling. The stark contrast of black structure, red field and glowing gold cascade creates a bold, dramatic, almost theatrical intensity.
