About this work
Flat, muted-gray planes are divided into angular sections suggestive of a ship's hull, ladders, hatches and davits, though no single form resolves into a whole vessel. Faint incised lines cross the surface like a technical diagram, with stenciled lettering ("AHRON", "ARN") and small numerals scattered across the composition, as if labelling parts in a shipyard drawing.
The palette stays almost entirely within grays, charcoal and off-white, with only the barest warmth in a few pale panels. Scratched, ruled lines sit over broadly brushed matte fields, giving the surface a worked, weathered quality closer to a blueprint or a scale model than a painted scene. The effect is austere and quietly enigmatic, more diagram than picture.
