About this work

A cluster of bare trees stands in the foreground of a park, their trunks catching low sunlight while patches of snow and dark earth cover the ground beneath. Beyond them, a pale colonnaded building appears through the branches on the left, and a red brick house with shuttered windows sits on the right, where a few small figures walk along the path.

Warm ochre trunks and long blue shadows are set against cool white snow, painted in quick, broken strokes that suggest bright, low spring sun. The mix of soft distance and crisp foreground detail creates an airy, quiet transitional mood between winter and spring.
