About this work
Seen from a raised stone embankment, a narrow canal recedes toward a low arched bridge, its surface holding the reflections of pink, yellow and grey buildings along the far bank. Two dark wooden rowboats are tied close to the near shore, and branches heavy with white blossom arch across the top of the view, with a paved walkway and stone parapet running along the right edge.
