About this work
Sharp-edged planes of ultramarine blue, deep red, ivory and black interlock across the canvas like fractured tectonic plates, with a smaller white winged shape floating near the lower edge. No horizon, ground or sky is legible; the surface reads as pure abstract structure rather than any recognizable place.
Thick, cratered impasto and scraped ridges give every color field a rough, geological texture, laid over a pale ground that shows through the cracks. The palette pushes hard primary and secondary contrasts - electric blue against blood red - creating a tense, dramatic charge rather than any atmospheric depth.
