About this work
An open field thick with pink and orange-red flowering plants fills the foreground, giving way to rolling green hills dotted with a few small trees along the horizon. The composition is organized in horizontal bands, from flowering meadow through distant hills to a pale, glowing sky.
Warm pink, coral, and gold strokes are layered thickly over a green underlayer, applied with a palette knife in short dashes that suggest countless individual blooms. The soft pink-tinted sky and mellow golden light give the whole scene a calm, end-of-day glow.
