About this work
An indistinct pale grey and white form, resembling a cloud bank, boulder, or sleeping shape, fills the lower half of the composition. Above it a thin band of glowing yellow-green light divides the mass from a turbulent, streaked blue and white sky, with a dark stormy patch at upper left.
Paint is scraped, smeared, and dragged with a palette knife in muted greys, browns, and whites, punctuated by a single bright seam of acid yellow-green and a few red and blue accents at the edges. The blurred, weightless forms and murky tonal range create a drifting, half-remembered atmosphere.
