About this work
A single large moth or butterfly fills the canvas, wings fully spread in perfect symmetry against a flat pale-turquoise ground. The reddish-brown body and curved black antennae sit at the center, while the black wings carry rows of green and teal chevron markings near the body that fade into pale scalloped edges.
The palette is limited and bold - teal-black wings, white-edged tips, and touches of green - applied in smooth, even fields with crisp black contour lines rather than blended brushwork.
