About this work
Layered mountain ridges climb toward a snow-streaked peak in the distance, their slopes covered in green scrub and rocky outcrops. In the foreground a stand of leafy orchard trees clusters at the edge of a meadow scattered with small white and yellow wildflowers, the grass rendered in loose strokes of yellow-green.
Cool violet shadows model the folds of the rock face while warm ochre catches the sunlit crags, and a high blue sky filled with soft white cumulus completes the sense of open air.
