About this work
A kneeling figure in a dark leotard bends low over a wooden floor, one arm stretched forward past a second body lying prone at the lower left. The pose freezes a mid-stretch moment, weight braced on splayed fingers, head bowed toward the ground.
Loose grey, beige and indigo brushstrokes build the figures against a bare, scumbled backdrop, with quick vertical drags of pale paint suggesting light falling behind them. The economical, sketch-like handling and visible cardboard ground give the scene an immediate, unfinished energy typical of a quick studio study.
