About this work
A wide, still river curves through the composition, its banks lined with autumn trees blazing in red and orange. Dark marshland and reeds fill the shadowed foreground, while a small pale moon hangs in the sky above a glowing band of warm light along the distant tree line, all mirrored in the water.
The palette moves from warm ochre and burnt-orange near the horizon into deep green-black shadow in front, with smooth, blended brushwork building a soft atmospheric haze. Diffused, glowing light creates a hushed, dreamlike stillness across the whole scene.
