About this work
A man stands centered on a leaf-strewn path within a stand of birch trees, dressed in a long pale coat over a patterned tunic and dark trousers, one hand tucked in his belt. Bare black branches and thin white trunks rise around him, framing his still, forward-facing figure.
The ground and understory are built up in dense strokes of rust, ochre and brown, echoed in the muted greys of the birch bark and sky.
