About this work
The view runs along a granite embankment beside a city canal. A large tree with autumn-tinged leaves arches over the water in the foreground, and a pigeon perches on the stone parapet below it. Further along the quay a small green footbridge crosses the canal, with pale riverside buildings and a scatter of tiny pedestrian figures receding into the distance.
